Volato orders 25 HondaJet Elite II aircraft

Volato ordered 25 HondaJet Elite II aircraft, set up to be delivered in 2023 and onwards. When deliveries are completed, Volato will have a fleet of 42 HondaJets, up from the 17 total this year.

In an announcement on LinkedIn, Volato shared a story by Corporate Jet Investor about the large order.

The Atlanta-based private aviation company ordered 25 of the jets due to an increase in demand for light jets in the fractional market, according to Corporate Jet Investor.

“We’ve been in talks with Honda for a bit of time because we did see demand in the market for ordering more planes.” Volato CEO Matt Liotta said to CJI.

“In the fractional space, the other popular plane is the Phenom 300 and NetJets announced that they were ordering 100 of those. So, that is just another data point for the demand that exists for shares,” Liotta said. “In many ways, the same customers for the Phenom 300 are also our customers for the HondaJet.”

Volato and Honda Aircraft company are working together on the recently ordered jets to improve the cabin experience. The aircraft that will be delivered in late 2023 will feature some of the improvements.

The fractional jet and aircraft management company recently added four Gulfstream G280s to its existing fleet and delivery for those is expected in early 2024. This addition was to help make them, “the most efficient, friendly and rewarding way to experience a luxury private jet.”

The expansion of the fleet now adds the 25 HondaJet Elite II aircraft to the previously ordered Gulfstream 280s and all of the ordered aircraft should be delivered between 2023 and 2024.
